Aligning the hire agreement with the cleaning scope
Most hire agreements ask the hirer to leave the space tidy, which means nothing in practice. Useful conditions are specific: chairs stacked in a named location, waste in the bins provided, no food residue on the floor, equipment returned. Those conditions only work if the cleaning scope then describes what happens when they are met and what happens when they are not.
The two documents should be written together. If the hire condition says chairs stacked and the cleaning scope prices for stacking them, the site is paying twice for the same task. If neither covers it, the chairs stay where they are until someone complains. Reading both side by side once a year catches gaps that neither document reveals on its own.
