Finding the actual boundary
The demarcation line is rarely the tenancy door. Base building services often include the lift lobby on each floor but not the tenancy side of the door, or the common amenities on a floor shared by two tenants but not a tenant's internal kitchen. Waste is typically collected from a nominated point, which means moving it to that point is a tenancy task nobody thinks to include.
Establishing this takes one conversation with building management and one walk of the floor. The output is a short list of transition points: the tenancy entry threshold, the shared amenity door, the waste presentation point, the end-of-trip facility and any terrace or balcony. Each gets an owner. That list resolves most future disagreements before they arise.
